A member of the skunk complex.
Pink to nearly orange in color; unlike A. perideraion, this clownfish and the similar A. sandaracinos species has no white vertical headband present; has a relatively narrow white stripe on top of the body that starts at the tip of the head running between the eyes, and continues along both sides of and to the end of the dorsal fin.
You can distinguish between the Amphiprion akallopisos (Skunk Clownfish) and the Amphiprion sandaracinos (Orange Skunk Clownfish) by where the dorsal stripe starts. The Orange Skunk stripe starts on its lip, on the Skunk it ends on a point just short of the mouth. |
